Genus

Genus: Gammafusarivirus

Family: Fusariviridae

Genus: Gammafusarivirus

Distinguishing features

Currently, this genus comprises only one species, but a group of viruses with closely related sequences have been discovered (see “Related, unclassified viruses”) and will likely be classified in this genus: the main distinguishing feature is that the ORF coding for the protein carrying the RdRP motif is larger than those of other fusarivirids, and the virus genomes are, in most cases, monocistronic.

Genus

Genus: Betafusarivirus

Family: Fusariviridae

Genus: Betafusarivirus

Distinguishing features

Viruses in this genus are monophyletic in a phylogenetic tree obtained aligning the full-length proteins that include the RdRP domain.

Species demarcation criteria

Viruses belonging to the same species are >80% identical in the full-length sequence of the protein that includes an RdRP domain.

Genus

Genus: Alphafusarivirus

Family: Fusariviridae

Genus: Alphafusarivirus

Distinguishing features

Viruses in this genus are monophyletic in a phylogenetic tree obtained aligning the full-length proteins that include the RdRP domain.

Species demarcation criteria

Viruses belonging to the same species are >80% identical in the full-length sequence of the protein that includes an RdRP domain.
