Distinguishing features

The single virus classified in the genus Prosimiispumavirus is distinguished from other spumaviruses based on its natural host range (prosimians rather than simians), and because there is phylogenetic evidence for a long-term stable association with the host lineage (Katzourakis et al., 2014).
