Distinguishing features

Viruses in the two species included in the genus Iotatorquevirus have genomes of about 2.8 kb and have been identified in a pig (family Suidae) and a bear (family Ursidae). The latter is from a fecal sample and thereby possibly diet-derived.

Demarcation criteria for taxa within the genus

Different species in the genus have orf1 genes with <69% pairwise identity.
