Family: Inoviridae
Genus: Capistrivirus
Distinguishing features
Vibrio phage KSF1, the exemplar isolate of the species Vibrio virus KSF, is a virus of V. cholerae that uses MSHA type pili IV as receptors. Its genome contains 7,107 nucleotides, encoding 14 proteins. The virions are 1,200 nm in length and 7 nm in width (Faruque et al., 2005).

Biology
Members of the genus infect Vibrio cholerae.
Species demarcation criteria
There is only one species in the genus. Members of additional species will be >5% different in the DNA sequence of their genomes as assessed using the BLASTn algorithm.
