Family: Botourmiaviridae
Genus: Ourmiavirus
Distinguishing features
The genome is tri-segmented, and each genomic RNA encodes a single protein, including an RNA-directed RNA polymerase (RdRP), a movement protein (MP) and a coat protein (CP). It is the only genus in the family Botourmiaviridae whose members infect plants (Rastgou et al., 2009).

Species demarcation criteria
-
Viruses of different species are not related serologically with respect to either the CP and the MP
-
Different natural hosts
-
Viruses of different species are less than 70% identical in CP aa sequence
-
Viruses of different species are less than 90 % identical in RdRP aa sequence
